What is Stream?
What we like
Stream V2 provides a simple design for yield-bearing vaults, making it easy for users to earn passive yield on familiar assets like USDC and ETH without complex setup. Its native LayerZero integration also enables efficient cross-chain liquidity and composability.
What we like less
The protocol’s yield strategies lack transparency, raising questions about the safety and sustainability of the returns. Uncertainty around collateral backing has increased counterparty and liquidity risk perceptions.
What it means for you
While Stream offers convenient, interoperable yield exposure, users should proceed with caution and treat it as a higher-risk yield product until the team provides more visibility into reserves and strategy management.

Risk Assessment
Watch Out
Protocol Code Quality
  • Code reviewed by at least one experienced auditor; code4rena
  • No documented protocol hacks since launch
Protocol Maturity
  • Latest protocol version launched in 2025; maturity less than six months increases technical risk as smart contracts are less battle-tested
  • Top 10% by total value locked reduces risk
  • Core contracts can be upgraded with just an EOA wallet
  • No timelock exists or no information documented, which mean a malicious actor could approve upgrades without any delay
  • No governance token and/or contracts are fully immutable
Protocol Design
  • This protocol is susceptible to risks related to yield optimizers which deploy custom strategies to automatically manage user funds
Things to know about Stream

What is Stream

Stream is a DeFi protocol that constructs yield-bearing vaults for assets such as BTC, ETH, USDC and EUR. Each vault issues a wrapped version of the underlying token and a share token that represents a user’s stake in the vault’s total yield. It is designed to abstract away complex farming strategies and offer users a simple way to deposit and earn yield across chains.

How Stream makes money

Stream generates revenue from the underlying farming and liquidity strategies that its vaults deploy capital into. The protocol retains a small portion of the yield as a performance or management fee. The rest is distributed to users through the share token’s value accrual, aligning Stream’s earnings with the performance of its deployed strategies.

How you make money on Stream

Users earn yield by staking their crypto assets in Stream vaults. As the vault’s underlying strategies generate returns, the user’s share token appreciates in value, representing accrued yield. This yield can be redeemed at any time by unstaking, though returns depend entirely on the performance—and transparency—of Stream’s underlying strategies.
