Ethereum dev offers new mechanism to protect issuers from bridge hacks.

 Arjun Bhuptani, founder of Connext (cross-chain bridge protocol), published a proposal for a new token standard (ERC-7281) that aims to limit bridge hacks that have plagued the DeFi space (another two just in the last week!). ERC-7281 would shift the ownership of tokens away from bridges and into the hands of the token issuers themselves. This allows issuers to choose which bridges they trust for their tokens and iterate on their choices over time as they learn more about the security of various bridges.

CowSwap introduces its own version of Hooks.

CowSwap, a popular decentralized exchange aggregator, has introduced a new feature called Hooks, which allows users to execute complex swaps with multiple steps in a single transaction. Hooks enable users to do more than just swap tokens and enable additional actions, such as bridging and staking. For example, a user could swap out a token, trade some of it to pay for gas, trade the remainder into another asset, and send that new asset to a different address.

Aave's native GHO stablecoin approaches mainnet deployment.

Aave DAO, the decentralized governance system of the leading lending protocol Aave, is set to vote on whether to deploy a new USD overcollateralized stablecoin called GHO on Ethereum. GHO will be minted by users against a diversified set of crypto assets supplied to the lending platform. GHO has been available on the Goerli testnet since February without encountering any major bugs.
